Shaq Diesel and the Celtics have agreed to terms on a 2 year approximately $3million contract that will sent the Big Aristotle to Boston for the 2010-2011 season.
This move closes the gap between the start studded Heat and the Celtics, and is also insurance for Kendric Perkins who had knee surgery in the offseason due to a torn MCL and PCL in game 6 of the 2010 NBA finals that aided the Lakers to climb out of a 3-2 hole and repeat as NBA Champs. Although Shaq would have had presumably more playin time in ATL with the Hawks he decided to join the Celtics as they are a heavy contender to make a push for the finals this year.
This deal tears me apart as Shaq is my all-time favorite player growing up watching him take my Orlando Magic to the finals in '95 only to be swept by the Rockets and Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon, playing for a franchise I despise as a fan of the Lakers ever since Shaq "took his talents" to LaLa land back in '96.
